Hillsboro, originally spelled Hillsborough, lies in the Hillsboro Gap of the Short Hill Mountain, which is part of the Blue Ridge Mountains in northwestern Virginia. The town is about 55 miles northwest of downtown Washington, D.C. and 10 miles southeast of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Virginia State Route 9 is the main road through town.A central feature of the town is its affectionately named "Old Stone
School" which is located next to the newer elementary school, Hillsboro
Elementary, which opened in 1966. The Old Stone School's original name
was Locust Grove Academy. The oldest part of the building, the east

Ashburn Coffee Shops
Ashburn, local legend has it, was known as Farmwell, till an ash tree on the property of a prominent Ashburn citizen, was struck by lightning. The ash tree, after having been struck, was rumored to have smoldered for a week and drew spectators from miles around. Since the local Post Office had been pressing for a new name for the village, it was decided to change the town's name to Ashburn, after the burning ash tree. Ashburn was also a frequent vacation destination for many Presidents. Ashburn has a quaint little main street and is an ideal location for enjoying a little history and a fresh cup of coffee. Hamilton Coffee Shops
Hamilton is located 6 miles west of the county seat at Leesburg. Richard Tavenner and his wife Ann Hatcher built and estate in the late 1700s, known at Harmony. Thereafter the surrounding area was known at Harmony, then Charles Bennett Hamilton founded a store there. Round Hill Coffee Shops
The town of Round Hill is located at the crossroads of Virginia routes 7 and 719, fifty miles northwest of Washington, DC. Round Hill was so named because of its proximity to a 910 foot hill which was used during the American Civil War, as a signal post, by both Confederate and Union armies. The town was incorporated in the year 1900, prior to this the town was the terminus of the Washington to Ohio rail line know as the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad. Purcellville Coffee Shops
