The town of Round Hill is located at the crossroads of Virginia routes 7 and 719, fifty miles northwest of Washington, DC. Round Hill was so named because of its proximity to a 910 foot hill which was used during the American Civil War, as a signal post, by both Confederate and Union armies. The town was incorporated in the year 1900, prior to this the town was the terminus of the Washington to Ohio rail line know as the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad.
