Aldie’s beginnings were laid out in 1765 by James and George Mercer. Aldie boasts several sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Aldie Mill, which survives today as Virginia’s only known gristmill powered by twin overshot water wheels. Aldie hosts an annual Harvest Festival every October. A beautiful and historic town, Aldie is a wonderful spot for a cup of coffee or tea.
